My Why?

Our ability to express ourselves maintains our sanity. To prevent my mental deterioration, I channel my feelings constructively with the use of media. Using oil paint and digital software, I create works that call for productive conversations. I consider elements such as color, organization, and connotative meanings. We lose control of our minds when our emotions overtake us. The creation of archetypes, such as The Moss Maiden and Flower Maiden, allows me to safely discuss my truth. Creating environments where these archetypes live allows my optimism to flourish. Utilizing myself as photo reference emphasizes the intimate nature of each piece.

I create artwork to heal the most damaged parts of myself. What propels my love for art is a feeling of compulsion to create and transform trauma into masterpieces. I encourage others to find a craft to help channel their traumas into something beautiful. No one deserves to be alone, and through works of art, I raise questions that open us up to healing. When you suppress your true thoughts, you prevent yourself from receiving the help you need.

In 2024, I incorporated my business Wholsomely Christian, LLC, as a call to action for mental health. As a child, I fell victim to abusive behaviors. Though many of my nights were long, my pain and my faith inspired me to strive for kindness. Kindness is the most priceless thing anyone can give, and it can impact millions. God offers undying love, peace, and kindness, and I want to show others how his grace has impacted me. No one should have to feel isolated in life; God is the only way we'll make it through.

To heal from our past, we need to accept pain and then transform it into something new. Alone, we may feel powerless, but united under God's love, we are undefeated.

When you struggle to find the words, cling to expression. Creativity is your strength.
